Employment during studies

If you have a residence permit issued on grounds of pursuit of studies, you can work for 24 hours per week during term-time and for a maximum of 90 days or 66 working days per year beyond term time. In such circumstances, you do not need a work permit for the period of your full-time studies.

Please note the following IMPORTANT points:

  1. Offer Letter: Will be received within 7-10 working days (if it is conditional offer, please ensure to meet the conditions specified).
  2. Student Contract/ T&C: Student will have to sign and the same to be uploaded on the portal (wherever applicable).
  3. Funds: The student must have 3 months old funds in their/parent’s bank account at the time of visa application. The account should be 6 months old. 3 years of ITR is required of parents/guardian/sponsor/student (if student is working) along with CA report.
  • Germany: No funds required, only blocked account 11,208 Euros
  • France: 12,000 Euros
  • Spain: 8000 Euros

  1. Visa Stage: The student must have paid one-year complete tuition before the submission of visa at the embassy. This will ensure students have higher chances of getting visa. If the student deposits only one semester fee, the remaining tuition should be shown in the living expense. The official visa checklist will be emailed to you once the student has paid the deposit.

What’s the minimum wage in Hungary?

As of June 2023, international students with a residence permit in Hungary can work part-time while studying, up to 24 hours per week or 4–6 hours per day. The minimum wage for unskilled work in Hungary is around 430 EUR for 8 hours per day, while the salary for skilled jobs is approximately 560 EUR. Students can use this money to help pay for living expenses, which can range from 375–700 EUR per month depending on their spending habits and type of accommodation.
